The newly anounced ,advanced biotechnology park will also act as the single source for research and support services for setting up new units on a commercial basis.The present total investment in biotechnology industry is estimated at Rs.7000 Crores distributed over 900 units,out of which more than 50% are conventional units. Present demand for biotechnology products is about Rs.9000 Crores which is expected to more than double to Rs.24000 Crores by 2010.
